100 Greatest Films Challenge of 2022

AFI - American Film Institute released what they consider the best 100 films of all time (and updated for the 10th anniversary).  We looked over the list and was shocked to discover there are films that we've never seen, much less, never heard of.  What better way than to grow our film knowledge over the pandemic, than to create a film challenge for not only ourselves, but for all of you.

We are going to undertake this challenge and would invite you to join us.  Even if you have seen the film before, watch it again and make some notes to share.  Things we will be watching and making note of is the following:

• Actors - the lead down to the small role characters, is there a special role that stood out to you?  If so, make a note and do a little look up on the actor that played that role
• Time period - could you tell which point in time or over a large period of time (think Forrest Gump) that this film took place?  Was there a historical event that the movie made mention of or ignored?
• Quotes - did this movie have a quote that stands out to you?  to everyone?  Why?
• Reception - was this movie well received in the theaters?  Or was it panned right away and grew in popularity over time?  This might take a bit of research, but this is a fun part of the challenge

We are watching these in no particular order.  We have purchased some in the past that we will be digging out and dusting off (can you say, DVD?) and we will be ordering some (purchase and rent) through our favorite streaming service.
